Job description

The Senior Superintendent works alongside Project Operations and Field Management to foster great client relationships, develop our employees, and oversee the construction of safe, high-quality, profitable, and on-schedule renewable projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Builds the team by attracting, interviewing, assessing, mentoring, and retaining top performers.
2. Provides on-site leadership for the project team by motivating team members to meet project goals, responsibilities, and milestones.
3. Ensures regular site coverage when managing multiple sites, visiting each site weekly or daily where possible.
4. Leads and enforces safety policies and procedures, addressing non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
5. Executes projects using the Quality Management System, recognizing patterns of rework, and developing solutions to eliminate them.
6. Performs or oversees project management practices such as progress tracking, forecasting, document management, problem solving, dispute resolution, design troubleshooting, and value engineering.
7. Sets, communicates, and enforces production goals and schedules with subcontractors.
8. Develops and ensures the team executes the project schedule, including a four-week lookahead schedule, to facilitate daily progress and resource balancing.
9. Supports development of the Four Week Look Ahead schedule weekly and adheres to it.
10. Works to stay within the project cost budget by implementing effective cost controls over subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
11. Trains the project team on planning, surveying, plan reading, productivity, efficiency, crew size, quality workmanship, and safety.
12. Uses daily huddles and weekly check-ins to promote communication, resolve issues, and share ideas for efficient and profitable construction.
13. Conducts regular quality checks and inspections on all activities and work performed.
14. Reviews all Foremen’s and Daily Reports, as well as Subcontractor's Daily Reports, for accuracy in hours, production, and activity summaries.
15. Understands the key terms and conditions of the Prime Contract with the Owner and communicates deviations.
16. Knows the operational details of subcontractor agreements and holds subcontractors accountable to standards.
17. This position is field-based at our project construction sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. 5+ years of relevant construction industry experience with increasing responsibility.
2. 5+ years overseeing self-perform work with crews of 50+ craft persons and equipment operators; prior experience as a Foreman or holding a Master Electrical License is a plus.
3. Exceptional leadership skills to lead a diverse group of individuals.
4. Experience leading complex construction projects with diverse scopes and tight timelines.
5. Strong customer service skills and ability to mitigate difficult client relations.
6. Expertise in various construction areas such as electrical, earthwork, utilities, structures, and mechanical.
7. Deep knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations.
8. Excellent teamwork, communication, leadership, and time management skills.
9. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Primavera P3/P6 software.
10. Ability to travel or relocate temporarily to project sites across the U.S. every 3-12 months.
11. Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
