Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Survey SUE Technician III to support field operations in North and South Carolina offices, including Raleigh, Charlotte, Charleston, and Columbia. You will work outdoors using electromagnetic equipment and ground penetrating radar, operate a vacuum truck, and document work with sketches, photos, spreadsheets and reports.

Responsibilities include performing SUE field work, interpreting design plans, mentoring junior technicians, and liaising with clients to ensure quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Commensurate relevant experience considered.
• Extensive knowledge of all phases of SUE field operations.
• 5+ years as SUE Technician I/II or related experience.
• Highly skilled in field operations.
• Basic knowledge of land surveying.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Proficient operation and extensive knowledge of vacuum truck and related equipment such as compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, hand tools, etc.
• Proficient operation and extensive knowledge of multi-frequency electromagnetic equipment including EMI and GPR.
• Perform SUE survey field work.
• Prepare daily paperwork.
• Train SUE Technicians I and II.
• Use and interpret design plans and record drawings.
• Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to start and complete projects with limited supervision.
• Interact professionally with clients.
