Job summary
GFT, a leading engineering firm, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer - Substation to join our Power Group in multiple locations, including Charlotte, NC, and remote options for the right candidate.
Join a team delivering cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects across transmission, distribution and renewables, focusing on reliability, sustainability and efficiency while expanding our presence in the power delivery sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer license or licensure in progress.
- 8+ years in design, engineering and PM in power/utility sector.
- Experience with project management software (MS Project or similar).
- HV substations and transmission project experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop substation structural steel and foundation drawings on new and existing substations.
- Prepare substation structural steel and foundation calculations and specifications.
- Collaborate regionally and nationally to pursue power substation projects.
- Develop client relationships and work across multiple disciplines.
- Contribute to proposals, bids, reports and presentations.
