Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Substation Structural Designer for our Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Group. The role supports design activities across multiple office locations including New Albany, OH, and other U.S. sites.

You will collect site data, prepare precise CAD drawings with engineers, verify calculations, and ensure compliance with codes and standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining safety and quality in project delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-education experience in drafting and design support.
• Knowledge of drafting and design principles, codes, and record-keeping.
• Ability to compute using geometry and math concepts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze site data and drawings to support design.
• Produce precise CAD drawings with engineers for basic/moderate projects.
• Verify calculations and ensure designs meet standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and resolve design discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to city, state, and federal codes and regulations.
