Job summary

Haskell Company is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Protection & Control team. You will oversee the design of protection and control for medium to high-voltage substations nationwide, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

You’ll work on greenfield and upgrade projects (15kV–500kV) with cross-functional teams, adhering to IEEE/ NEC/NESC standards and client guidelines, with occasional site visits and field testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with Power Systems or Controls concentration.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in substation protection and controls design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review protection & control system design for substations (15kV–500kV).
• Create and oversee wiring diagrams, schematics, and I/O/logic diagrams.
• Develop relay protection philosophies and select appropriate relays.
• Coordinate relay settings development and studies with protection engineers.
• Review design docs produced by internal teams or subcontractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and interact with project managers and field staff.
• Support site visits for scoping, verification, commissioning, and coordination.
