Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Controls Engineer for a REMOTE WORK arrangement. You will lead protection and control design for high voltage substations and transmission projects up to 500 kV, and develop engineering deliverables for electric substation projects for utility customers.

Qualifications

• PE license is required.
• Minimum 5 years of protection and control design experience.
• Willing to stamp projects in responsible charge.
• Ability to work with remotely located team members.
• Must pass post-offer drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.
• Travel as required for client relationships and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Design protection and control for high voltage substations up to 500 kV.
• Provide technical support under supervision for client initiatives.
• Collaborate in project teams for detailed electrical design and management.
• Participate in conceptualization, planning, and execution of projects.
• Support pre-bid walkdowns and prepare proposals and estimates.
• Produce design packages including schematics, wiring and diagrams.
• Perform standard substation calculations and package reviews.
