AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Protection & Controls Designer to lead substation design efforts from a remote, hybrid, or in-office setting. You will develop P&C design packages, manage drawings, and coordinate with multi-discipline teams to meet schedules and quality standards.

The role requires extensive substation design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and ProjectWise, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Drafting diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 15 years of professional experience focused on substation design for Senior positions; 10 years for Intermediate positions.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; MicroStation is a plus.
• Experience with ProjectWise document management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient and reliable design packages for medium and high voltage substations within a multi-discipline team.
• Lead or support document control functions including ProjectWise management and submittals/transmittals.
• Translate engineering sketches and markups into documented drawings (schematics, wiring, single line, three line diagrams).
• Coordinate design activities to maintain project schedules, budget, and quality requirements.
• Assist in site visits, proposals, and project meetings as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable drafting codes and standards and company policies.
• Coordinate design activities with other project team members and incorporate field marks for as-built packages.
• Maintain complete project documentation and ensure good relationships with internal groups.
