Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth, Texas office seeks a Substation P&C Engineer with 4+ years of experience to lead complex utility-scale projects in the Protection & Control space. This is not a remote position and offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will produce detailed P&C design packages for 4 kV to 500 kV projects, oversee lead project engineering tasks, mentor engineers, and support client meetings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of protection & control engineering design.
• PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus).
• Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; IO mapping.
• ETAP experience is a plus.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Act in a senior technical capacity on project deliverables for P&C engineering.
• Lead P&C design output, coordinating with the P&C group across offices.
• Produce detailed substation P&C design packages for 4 kV–500 kV projects.
• Create one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, interconnections, wiring diagrams.
• Assist with policies, procedures, standards, and technical guidance for P&C practice.
• Plan and lead client meetings related to P&C; support proposals.
• Perform Quality Control reviews on substation protection packages.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in the team.
