Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Plymouth Meeting, PA office is seeking a Substation Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This is not a remote position.

The role involves designing and executing high‑voltage and medium‑voltage P&C projects for utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients, including protection packages, relay diagrams, and construction drawings, while coordinating with cross‑discipline teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in substation design.
• Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCADE, MicroStation and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Perform HV/MV substation protection and control design for utility and renewable projects.
• Develop protection packages, relay diagrams, and interconnection drawings.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams and lead technical discussions.
• Support commissioning, relay testing, troubleshooting, and energization planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and review project deliverables.
