Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, GA office is seeking a Substation Protection and Control Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This on-site role involves designing protection packages, relay diagrams, and station service systems for HV/MV substations serving utilities, renewables, and industrial clients.

The ideal candidate will lead project work, coordinate with cross-discipline teams, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high-quality deliverables and client

Qualifications

• PE license preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience in substation protection and control design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Support design and execution of HV/MV substation protection and control projects.
• Develop protection packages, relay diagrams, and interconnection drawings.
• Lead project teams and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams and perform quality control reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Develop and review proposals and scopes of work for P&C projects.
• Lead client meetings and support commissioning activities.
