Job summary

K&A Power Group in Boston/Worcester, MA, is hiring a Field Construction Manager - Substation to lead on-site civil and electrical construction for substation and transmission projects. You will coordinate with project management, engineering, contractors, and utility representatives to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; extensive field experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5+ years of field construction experience in electrical utility infrastructure.
• Experience with construction of electrical substations and underground HV cables.
• Strong knowledge of civil and electrical construction practices for utility projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field construction management and oversight for substation and underground transmission projects.
• Coordinate civil construction activities including site development, excavation, grading, drainage, foundations, duct banks, trenches.
• Oversee electrical construction activities: equipment installation, grounding systems, conduits and cables, underground cables.
• Review drawings, specs, and field conditions; provide practical input and timely decisions.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, safety, schedule, and compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces among civil, electrical, engineering, and utility teams; attend meetings and keep records.
