Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Principal Engineer – Substation for a remote, 1-year assignment with travel within North America. You will coordinate with stakeholders to secure substation sites and ensure compliance with interconnection requirements, engineering standards, and documents.

External engineers of record will be trained and overseen to maintain project quality. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil or Structural Engineering and 7+ years in HV

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
• 7+ years' experience in Substation design and high voltage projects.
• Project Engineering or Project Management experience with PMP or PE credentials is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site and necessary documents.
• Provide training, due diligence, and oversight of external engineers of record per standards and interconnection agreements.
• Represent E&C interests and present progress, issues and risk mitigation to management.
