Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Principal Engineer – Substation on behalf of our client for a 1-year contract (W-2). You will coordinate with project engineering resources to develop work plans and ensure cost-effective, safe substation implementation following department processes and standards.

Qualifications

• We prefer a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects.
• HVDC experience is helpful.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
• PMP or P.E. in related discipline is helpful.
• Some travel required within North America.

Responsibilities

• All assigned substation projects for FERC 1000 RFP's and Early Stage Diligence Projects.
• In the conceptual phase, support engineering requirements and scope with Development Group.
• Train external engineers of record (EOR) for assigned substation projects with due diligence and oversight.
• Source and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; assist ISC with SOWs and bids.
• Support the RFP / Diligence effort and assist with cost estimating templates.
