Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Sr. Substation Project Engineer on behalf of its client for a 1-year contract (W-2). Travel between worksites is a key function, and a valid driver’s license is required.

The role requires PE certification, Six Sigma belts, and a strong background in HV substation design. North America travel and PM/PMI experience are desirable for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• PE certification required or in process.
• Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt and Yellow Belt certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering.
• 6+ years’ experience in Substation design and high voltage projects.
• Project Engineering or Project Management experience; PMP or PE helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Secure resources and use formal processes to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.
• Conduct project meetings and oversee project tracking and analysis.
• Identify challenges, measures, validated results, and implement solutions.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Source and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; support E&C Cost Estimating team.
