Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Substation Electrical Engineer III to join our team remotely. You will lead advanced substation projects, apply seasoned technical judgment, and ensure designs meet industry standards and company criteria.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and guidance to junior engineers. The position emphasizes project execution, safety, and reliability, with opportunities to influence design standards and support outages, testing, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in substation engineering or power delivery.
• PE license strongly preferred; required for approval authority in some jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engineering efforts on substation projects of high complexity and risk.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Substation Design Engineers.
• Coordinate deliverables with Protection & Control, Transmission, Civil, Environmental, Construction, and Operations teams.
• Review and approve design packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Support capital planning with technical input and feasibility studies.
