Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Senior Electrical Engineer (Station P&C) for our Ft. Mill, South Carolina office to join the Power & Energy Substation Team. You will contribute to design, analysis, and project execution for utility-scale substations up to 345 kV.

The role involves leading technical work, mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with owners and other disciplines, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience delivering design deliverables for large capital projects.
• Proficient knowledge of substation P&C engineering for 12 kV to 345 kV.
• Experience with design, build, and project work in utilities/transmission contexts.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and assess one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and protection schemes.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for substations.
• Lead data analysis, site evaluations, and field investigations for substation projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers; provide technical training as needed.
• Coordinate with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients to ensure QA/QC.
• Produce data visualizations, charts, and reports to support decisions.
