Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Substation projects. This role involves leading design efforts, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering protection, control, and equipment specifications for high-voltage substations.

You will mentor junior staff, manage budgets, and engage with clients and vendors to ensure project success. A strong background in HV substations and PSD work is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Function as Technical Specialist or Project Lead for substation projects.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables (relays, diagrams, wiring).
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications and BOMs for procurement and construction.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or project sites for reviews and verifications.
