Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to support high-voltage substation projects up to 765 kV. You will help develop protection and control designs, yard layouts, grounding, and power systems, while coordinating with clients and teams on EPC efforts.

The role requires a engineering degree and at least one year of relevant experience, with EIT certification preferred. Hybrid work options and extensive development opportunities are available within a 100% ESOP-owned company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation designs, including physical design and protection & controls.
• Develop design deliverables, including single-line diagrams and equipment wiring.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams.
• Support QA/QC and adhere to project budgets and schedules.
• Mentor entry-level professionals and interns.
