Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead substation design efforts, with exposure to up to 765 kV projects, and provide technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes protecting and controlling systems, BOM creation, and coordination with clients and vendors, with opportunities for travel and mentorship within a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead design activities for substation projects.
• Develop protection and control designs and BOMs.
• Prepare electrical calculations and reports for engineering studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients, vendors and stakeholders.
• Present proposals, designs and project activities.
• Support business development or pursuit activities.
