Job summary

Integrity PSC’s Tatman Associates seeks a Senior Electrical Designer to develop outdoor substation layouts from distribution to transmission voltages, producing complete drawings, BOMs, and 3D models.

You will mentor junior designers, ensure constructible designs that meet IEEE/NESC/ANSI standards, and collaborate with engineers, vendors, and customers using Inventor and AutoCAD.

This remote-friendly role offers growth opportunities within the team and exposure to multi-class voltage projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CAD design experience in utility, industrial, power, or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling.
• Demonstrated experience using parameters, constraints, and assembly relationships to drive equipment clearances, conductor spacing, bus alignment, and reusable substation layouts.
• Strong understanding of electrical substations, utility infrastructure, and industrial facilities.
• Ability to interpret specifications, one lines, vendor cut sheets, calculations, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop physical layouts for substations including equipment placement, bus work, conduit, grounding, fencing, structures, foundations, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Review project specifications, customer drawings, one lines, calculations, vendor documentation, and Job Material Lists (JMLs).
• Perform equipment placement studies, clearance evaluations, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate layouts across multiple voltage classes including distribution, sub transmission, and transmission substations.
