Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned designer to collaborate with engineers and a senior designer on high/extra-high voltage substation projects. You will develop 3D models and comprehensive drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, and SDS, while incorporating vendor data into deliverables.

The role requires strong 3D visualization, adherence to CAD standards, and experience with electrical substations. This position supports a hybrid work arrangement and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree in Drafting or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 8+ years of 3D substation modeling and physical design experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro, SDS).
• Able to visualize 3D layouts and follow CAD standards.
• Knowledge of design techniques for technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical and BlueBeam for BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and a senior designer to produce high/extra-high voltage substation designs and associated 3D models.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
