RMS Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to design and analyze electrical power systems for high-voltage substations across the United States. You will create drawing packages, perform modeling, and support field installations with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD and power system modeling tools, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Formación

• 3+ years hands-on electrical engineering experience, preferably in substation protection and control design.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and substation equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and power system modeling software (SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Easy Power).
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• NETA II, III, or IV certification preferred.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Provide electrical power system design and analysis for substation equipment.
• Create specifications for switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, circuit breakers, and related equipment.
• Perform arc flash hazard studies, short-circuit calculations, and coordination analysis.
• Design installation packages and drawings for substation upgrades and relay replacements.
• Develop relay settings for both electromechanical and digital relays.
• Design control circuits for breakers, transformers, and other substation devices.
• Analyze power quality and event capture data to recommend solutions.
• Review customer power systems and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
• Travel to job sites to collect field data and support installations or commissioning.
• Understand system hazards and follow strict electrical safety procedures.
