Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support high‑quality electrical design deliverables on complex infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, 2D/3D drawings, and use of Bentley MicroStation and related tools.

The position involves supervision, mentoring, and ensuring compliance with project standards, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology required.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions.
Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
Establishes and communicates appropriate design and graphic standards.
