Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Mgr, Substation Design to provide leadership for all Substation Design Engineering activities in the New Orleans area. The role includes scoping, planning, estimating, engineering and design reviews, contract management, and strategic direction.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, at least ten years in the utility sector, and supervisory experience. Travel up to 25% is possible, with relocation options within Entergy’s service area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Extensive knowledge of substation design practices, standards, and processes.
• Strong organizational and multi-project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design engineering activities including scoping, planning, estimating, drawing development and design reviews.
• Manage project costs, schedules and engineering quality to meet goals and customer satisfaction.
• Address regulatory requests from FERC, NERC, SERC and other bodies; represent Entergy in industry forums.
• Ensure safety, reliability, operability and constructability in final products and processes.
• Oversee resource management, contractor oversight and staff development.
• Develop processes/tools to improve cost, cycle time and quality.
