Job summary

EDG Inc in Metairie, LA seeks a Sr. Manager-Substation Design Engineer to lead substation detailed design projects from concept through design completion for utilities, contractors and developers.

You will supervise data collection, electrical calculations, layouts, grounding, and protection schemes while coordinating with regulators, clients, and internal teams to ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, NEC and project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering with electrical focus.
• Experience designing power transmission and distribution systems.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and stakeholders.
• Experience with design software and standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design projects from concept through completion.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, sizing, and grounding.
• Prepare layouts, SCADA/DFR connections, and schematics.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE/NESC/NEC standards and permits.
• Review third-party design documents and procurement lists.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
