Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Mgr, Substation Design in Louisiana. This onsite role leads all Substation Design Engineering activities, including scoping, planning, estimating, drawing development, and compliance, with responsibility for cost, schedule, and quality.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, at least 10 years in the utility sector and leadership experience, plus PE registration in Entergy’s service area is preferred. Expect up to 25% travel across service territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry across engineering disciplines.
• 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration in at least 1 state in Entergy service area desired.

Responsibilities

• Track and control the engineering phase of project costs, schedules, and quality to meet project goals and milestones.
• Resolve technical substation engineering conflicts that affect cost, schedule or customer satisfaction.
• Respond to substation-related regulatory compliance issues; develop responses to regulatory requests from FERC, NERC, SERC and other bodies; participate on industry committees.
• Ensure integration of safety, reliability, operability, constructability, and configuration management in final products/designs/processes.
• Accountable for Substation Design resource management, including workload distribution, contractor management and employee development.
• Develop and provide processes and tools to improve project cost, cycle time and quality.
