Job summary

Entergy seeks a Design Basis Engineer II/Sr. for transmission substations in New Orleans, LA. The role drives technical foundations, design governance, and operational performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams and field personnel.

The engineer will handle routine and non-routine engineering tasks, support during storms, and ensure safe, reliable substation systems through sound judgment and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college/university.
• Engineer II/III/Sr: 2/4/6+ years of engineering experience respectively; PE may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, codes, and industry standards.
• Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively; safety-conscious and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to develop technically sound, cost-effective substation solutions.
• Interpret electrical codes and standards to ensure design integrity and compliance.
• Provide technical direction to field operations and other stakeholders.
• Support storm restoration and emergency response activities as needed.
