Job summary

Dewberry is expanding its Energy Market Sector by appointing a Substation Physical Engineer to lead high and medium voltage substation design. You will mentor a growing team and deliver designs that meet safety, reliability, and constructability standards for utilities, government bodies, and institutions nationwide.

With NEC/NFPA guidance and a broad engineering network, you will shape design standards, oversee construction packages, and manage multi-disciplinary teams while driving talent

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering.
• 20+ years of experience in medium/high voltage substation design.
• PE license is required.
• Experience designing medium/high voltage substation electrical systems and producing design deliverables.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate to engineering staff.
• Self-starter with initiative and drive.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to demonstrate technical capabilities.
• Coordinate with Energy PMO leadership and client managers.
• Develop technical approach, estimates, and organize the technical team.
• Collaborate proactively with other groups and company offices.
• Collaborate with and manage multi-discipline teams.
• Assist with training and mentoring staff.
• Engage with project deliverables including quality control reviews.
