Job summary

Dewberry is expanding its Energy Market Sector and seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to lead the growth of our medium and high voltage substation design practice. You will lead a high-performing team delivering projects for utilities, government entities, and private institutions.

Based in Birmingham, AL, you will oversee design packages, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and drive engineering standards while mentoring staff and promoting Dewberry’s culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering is required.
• PE license is required for this leadership role.
• Experience leading medium/high voltage substation design teams is essential.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and related codes is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to demonstrate capabilities and proposed approaches.
• Coordinate with Energy PMO leadership and client managers.
• Develop technical approach, estimates, and organize the technical team.
