Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects for a leading energy and EPC client in Raleigh, NC. The role involves developing primary substation designs, supporting EPC project execution, and collaborating with engineering, project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Experience with AIS and GIS substations.
Strong experience in primary electrical design.
Experience supporting EPC project execution.

Responsibilities

Develop electromechanical design criteria and layouts for AIS/GIS substations.
Lead and review general arrangement, grounding, trench, and conduit designs.
Perform and review calculations: grounding, cable ampacity, lightning protection, illumination, and auxiliary loads.
Develop equipment specs, BOMs, and engineering execution plans.
Support and lead 3D design for proposals and execution.
Review vendor drawings, specs, and documentation.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, PM, and construction teams.
Identify and resolve technical issues to protect schedules.
Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support.
