Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to lead the primary engineering and physical design of high‑voltage substations. The role spans AIS and GIS, indoors and outdoors, and requires hands-on execution and coordination with civil, structural, protection and procurement teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' HV substation design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

Substation Design Engineer - High Voltage Substations

A leading energy and infrastructure business is seeking a Primary Engineering SME to support the delivery of major high-voltage substation and grid infrastructure projects across North America.

This is a technical role suited to an experienced Primary Engineer / Lead Primary Engineer with strong hands-on experience in the physical design of AIS and GIS substations.

The Role

You will take ownership of primary engineering and physical substation design, working closely with civil, structural, protection & control, procurement and construction teams.
