Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Project Manager Engineering in Raleigh to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts on AIS and GIS substation projects from concept to commissioning.

You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure technical excellence, cost efficiency, and successful project delivery. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of power systems experience, and a PE license (or ability to obtain one).

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years in power systems or grid integration.
• PE license or ability to obtain one.
• Deep knowledge of National Electric Code and ANSI/IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across AIS and GIS projects from concept to commissioning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Support proposals with innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Define project tasks, schedules, and quality metrics.
• Evaluate risks and opportunities to optimize outcomes.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Act as principal technical interface for stakeholders.
• Drive continuous process improvements across engineering functions.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
