Job summary

ICF Olson is seeking a Substation Civil Structural Engineer with electric utility substation design and review experience. You will develop design drawings and calculations from concept through detailed design, and perform reviews to support bid and construction packages for substation projects.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, site grading, and coordination with electrical engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
5+ years of experience performing electric utility substation design engineering and reviews.
PE License.

Responsibilities

Develop engineering design drawing and calculation packages from conceptual phase through detailed design and perform design reviews of civil/structural components.
Ensure substation facility compliance with safety and environmental regulations including SPCC.
Perform site design activities such as grading, drainage, and storm water calculations.
Conduct design reviews and mentor junior staff; contribute to bids and proposals.
Attend client meetings and potential site visits as required.
Provide design support to field personnel during project construction.
