Job summary

ICF Incorporated, LLC is seeking a Substation Civil Structural Engineer to join a senior design team for electric utility substation and renewable energy projects. You will develop design drawings, perform reviews, and ensure compliance with safety and SPCC regulations, with occasional site visits.

The role requires a PE license, a BS in Civil Engineering, and 5+ years of experience in substation design. Remote work is nationwide, with regular collaboration and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience performing electric utility substation design engineering and reviews.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design drawing and calculation packages from conceptual phase through detailed design and perform design reviews for civil/structural components.
• Ensure substation facilities meet safety and environmental regulations, including SPCC requirements.
• Perform site design activities such as grading, drainage, and water flow calculations.
• Conduct design reviews, mentor junior staff, and contribute to bids and proposals.
• Occasionally visit client substations and travel for meetings and industry events.
• Provide design support to field personnel during construction.
