Job summary

Quanta Government Solutions seeks a Lead Designer – Substation to support design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D design tasks with an emphasis on accuracy, standards compliance, and CAD proficiency.

Ideal candidates have deep substation design experience, strong CAD skills with AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and related tools, and the ability to work with engineers and drafting teams to deliver high-quality drawings. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent; a 4-year Eng Tech degree is a plus.
• Extensive CAD proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS, etc.
• Substation design experience in the electric utility industry.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects from inception to completion.
• Utilize 3D or smart design software for substation work.
• Maintain quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Adhere to design standards and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams; travel as needed.
