Job summary

The State of Washington's Department of Corrections in Tumwater seeks a Program Specialist 4 - Substance Use Disorder Professional to perform SUDP duties within HS-SRU. The role requires licensure or trainee status, DSM-5/ASAM-aligned assessments, and case management with strict confidentiality and CFR 42 Part 2 compliance.

The position supports evidence-based treatment, conducts assessments, develops service plans, and collaborates with DOC stakeholders to reduce recidivism while ensuring staff

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and within a team with good judgment.
• Certification as Substance Use Disorder Professional and/or a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee.
• Experience with offender tracking systems or OMNI/SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review assessments and forms to determine SUD eligibility and treatment needs.
• Apply DSM-5 and ASAM Criteria in diagnosis and level of care recommendations.
• Maintain treatment records and ensure compliance with CFR 42 Part 2 and confidentiality rules.
