We are hiring a Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our Seattle team. Under the close supervision of our Clinical Supervisor, you'll provide primary contact with participants, be responsible for evaluations and assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide group and family counseling. The schedule for this position is in‑person, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours. The pay for this role is $31.50 - $34.77 per hour.

***Please note: To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a current Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license with the Washington State Department of Health.

Requirements

Serves as the primary contact with participants; responsible for screenings, evaluations, assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family counseling. Provides program information and facilitates referrals to outside resources. Reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor.

  • Conducts a self‑assessment of skill levels related to Substance Use Disorder Professional practice, collaborating closely with the Clinical Supervisor to strengthen identified areas and complete necessary training hours for SUDP certification.
  • Provides individual and group counseling services to individuals enrolled in programs at THS and/or its affiliates.
  • Serves as leader or co‑leader of therapy groups.
  • Performs intake interviews/assessments as required.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans and concurrent treatment plan reviews reflecting the participant’s perspective.
  • Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notations, and preparation of treatment contracts, letters, referrals, and discharge summaries.
  • Provides advocacy, case management, information and referral services, and wrap‑around services in an outpatient setting.
  • Assists in resolving participant's issues, as they relate to staffing decisions. Follows through on staffing recommendations for participants.
  • Adheres to established THS policies and procedures.

  • Complete THS Relias trainings, as assigned
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Associate’s degree in Social Services/Sciences or related field, plus two years’ experience in counseling, case evaluation and staffing presentations and record keeping OR Associate Degree plus three years’ experience in counseling.
  2. Maintain Substance Use Disorder Professional certification per WAC (Washington Administrative Code) and possess the SUDP credential.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in chemical dependency, family dynamics, and counseling.
  4. Drug‑free and out of treatment for a minimum of three years immediately prior to employment and no misuse of alcohol or drugs while employed as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Computer proficiency required.
