Job summary

Allstate is seeking a Senior Subrogation Attorney to lead complex auto and property subrogation matters from investigation through resolution. You will advise claims partners and business stakeholders, and represent Allstate in court, arbitration, mediation, and trial proceedings.

You will collaborate with legal and claims teams, develop recovery strategies, conduct negotiations, and drive meaningful financial and operational impact through successful recovery efforts.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Active California State Bar in good standing.
• 4+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense, subrogation, or related areas.
• Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload from inception through resolution.
• Experience with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms (LexisNexis preferred).
• Willing to travel throughout California for trials and court appearances.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex auto and property subrogation litigation from investigation through resolution.
• Develop recovery strategies and lead negotiations with carriers and attorneys.
• Prepare witnesses, conduct depositions, and represent the company in hearings and trials.
• Review new files and provide legal guidance aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with claims and business stakeholders on litigation risks and case strategy.
• Monitor developments in laws and case law and adjust litigation strategy.
• Maintain a high-volume caseload while coordinating with teams to drive outcomes.
