Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Principal Naval Architect to support NAVSEA Team Submarine programs, including PMS450 and the VIRGINIA Class.

The role focuses on design, weight, stability, and propulsion considerations for submarines, with senior-level programmatic input and cross-discipline coordination across shipyards and government partners. The ideal candidate will lead teams, ensure design compliance with naval requirements, and engage with PMS450 and NAVSEA stakeholders to deliver advanced

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8 years in marine industry.
• Experience leading Naval Architecture teams and programs.
• Strong hull design, stability, weight, and performance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize submarines with emphasis on hull forms, stability, and buoyancy.
• Oversee weight control, hydrostatics, and ballast for naval platforms.
• Coordinate with PMS450, NAVSEA, shipyards, and vendors.
• Provide technical and programmatic support for Virginia Class program.
