Job summary

KMS Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Submarine Diesel Engine Subject Matter Expert to support the PMS 450/SHAPM Diesel team. You will provide technical guidance on diesel engine renewal, modernization, and performance for U.S. Navy submarines, interfacing with PMS 396 and DRPM Submarines.

The role requires deep knowledge of diesel mechanics, control systems, emissions, and proven ability to produce clear, actionable reports and recommendations. DoD security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field.
• 8 years of program management experience.
• 8 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines, preferably marine, submarine, or military propulsion/backup power systems.

Responsibilities

• Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary resource for diesel engine technology, providing expert advice on engine design, performance, and operations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports and presentations on diesel engine performance, trends, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
• Research and Development: Collaborate with engineering teams on diesel modernizations and perform feasibility studies and evaluations of new technologies.
• Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Develop diagnostic procedures and training materials for maintenance staff.
