Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Ship Control Systems Engineer to support the VIRGINIA Class Submarine Program in Groton, CT. You will contribute to design, maintenance, and performance analysis of shipboard Fly-By-Wire and control systems, working with Navy offices, shipbuilders, and program teams.

The role requires an active DoW Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a strong background in mechanical or naval engineering.

Qualifications

• Institutional requirements for job include an active security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Engineering degree requirements with related field experience.
• Experience in naval ship systems or related engineering domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and maintenance requirements for shipboard Fly-By-Wire and Ship Control Systems.
• Define architectures for submarine control systems including steering and diving systems.
• Communicate scope and impact of technical issues to Navy and shipbuilder teams.
• Assist in management and execution of technical requirements for ongoing submarine programs.
• Accelerate approvals of technical issues and resolutions with stakeholders.
