Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Ship Control Systems Engineer based in Groton, CT, supporting the US Navy's Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS450).

The role requires active DoW Secret clearance, US citizenship, and extensive experience in ship control systems. You will collaborate across engineering, production, and government teams to develop, implement, and accelerate solutions for submarine control architectures.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance required or current
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Associate's Degree with 2 years additional experience or High School Diploma with 4 years additional experience
• 10 years of experience in related engineering/program management roles
• Experience with naval ships/submarines, ship systems, or subsystems
• Strong communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Develop design and maintenance requirements for shipboard Submarine Fly-By-Wire and Ship Control Systems
• Address design, operation, and maintenance questions for existing and new shipboard systems
• Define architectures for Submarine Control Systems (steering, diving, auxiliary)
• Obtain fleet feedback and analyze system performance
• Develop electrical engineering guidelines for command and field activities
• Manage technical and design requirements for submarine shipbuilding programs
• Accelerate approvals of technical issues and resolutions
• Coordinate with engineering, production, QA, and government offices
