Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group in Northern California seeks a Structural Engineering Team Lead to supervise engineers, designers, and modelers, guiding technical work on large multidiscipline projects, and ensuring on-schedule delivery.

You will coordinate staffing and oversee activities from schematic design to contract documents while collaborating with Project Managers and other disciplines to deliver high-performance, sustainable structures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and be responsible for a team of engineers, designers, and/or modelers toward technical training and development, project delivery, and workload management.
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects, and resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all structural aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
• Coordinate staffing and workload of staff through entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions with Project Managers and other disciplines.
• Assist with operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support.
• Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews.
• Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues.
