Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Walnut Creek, CA to join our Building Engineering Services Group. The role centers on the structural design of facilities across multiple markets, coordinating with multidiscipline teams from planning through construction.

You will develop construction drawings, specifications, and supporting calculations, reviewing shop drawings, and delivering high-quality structural designs. A PE license and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE or equivalent) in the location of the position offered.
Demonstrated leadership and clear communication skills.
Experience with structural design and detailing for building projects.
Proficient in common structural software listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

Review structural documents for coordination with other disciplines.
Prepare and edit structural specifications and calculations; develop construction drawings.
Coordinate the structural design team through design development and CD phases.
Participate in meetings with agencies for code compliance.
Support construction administration with shop drawing reviews and RFI handling.
Lead workload planning to meet project schedules and deliverables.
Collaborate with other disciplines and incorporate changes into documents.
Perform other duties as needed.
