Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Structural Simulation Engineer to lead structural and thermo-mechanical risk management for advanced vehicle electronics. You will define design requirements for PCB layouts, enclosures, and cooling architectures to ensure high reliability and guide multidisciplinary teams toward engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; PhD preferred.
• 3-7 years of experience in structural mechanics for electronics assemblies.
• Strong background in nonlinear analysis, dynamics, and coupled thermal-structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural and thermo-mechanical risk management for electronics in vehicles.
• Run multi-scale numerical simulations to meet aggressive reliability targets.
• Conduct stiffness and actuation simulations for haptic switches and touch interfaces.
• Perform nonlinear structural evaluations under extreme loading scenarios.
• Direct multi-physics simulations to minimize thermal and mechanical distortions in critical modules.
• Guide design teams on enclosure stiffness, thermal stack-up, and cooling architecture.
