Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Structural Safety Engineer to advance CAE simulations and optimize structural design for enhanced safety of vehicles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovations, manage multiple CAE deliverables, and improve methodologies.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years in automotive safety and strong LS-Dyna experience, with excellent communication and independent work skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automotive safety, vehicle testing, or system integration.
• Proficiency in structural analysis using CAE tools, particularly LS-Dyna.
• Strong understanding of automotive structural design in safety applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis using CAE tools to assess vehicle performance against safety regulations.
• Support refinement and validation of structural designs with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and improve CAE models for predictive accuracy.
• Contribute to test plans aligned with DVP for virtual, component, and vehicle levels.
• Analyze results, identify issues, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Independently manage projects with multiple inputs and deliverables.
• Support automation of CAE processes using scripting to improve efficiency.
• Provide technical inputs for instrumentation, pre/post-test analysis and model correlation.
• Communicate progress and results across teams to foster collaboration.
