Job summary

McMillen, Inc. designs and builds water resources solutions in the dams, energy, fisheries, natural resources and infrastructure markets. A Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience will work on diverse projects across the U.S. and Canada, delivering engineering, environmental and construction expertise to clients.

The role includes design, analysis, and on-site support, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth within an employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• PE or P.Eng. licensure is a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure and fishery projects.
• Experience with FEA modeling software such as ABAQUS or ANSYS/LS-DYNA.
• Knowledge of seismic analysis methods and relevant codes.
• Travel up to 15% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design documentation reports and technical memos.
• Evaluate and apply advanced structural design techniques.
• Perform structural computations by hand and with software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand or CAD.
• Edit specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Support construction through submittals, RFIs, and site visits.
• Develop FEA models and present results to clients.
• Manage design and construction support services.
• Collect and analyze field data and existing conditions.
• Provide mentorship to other staff.
