Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Midland, TX is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead design efforts for power, oil & gas, and industrial facilities. You will guide junior engineers, perform complex analyses, and develop drawings and calculations.

The role requires ABET-accredited degree, PE license, 8+ years' experience, and proficiency with STAAD, RAM/SAP, ANSYS; occasional travel is expected with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-approved) required.
• Eight+ years in heavy industrial plant design with steel, concrete foundations.
• PE license required.
• Experience writing and supporting structural calculations.
• Proficiency with design codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead junior engineers and designers in structural design efforts.
• Perform structural analysis for wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization.
• Develop integrated structural designs and calculations for planned work.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure timely design.
• Review existing facilities for upgrades and condition assessments.
