Job summary

Qualifications

• This position requires a BSCE (MSCE preferred) from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
• Six or more years of working as a member of a project team environment in the design of industrial, power, oil and gas facilities, with a focus on the analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations and supports for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities.
• PE license or ability to earn a PE license is required.
• Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering calculations.
• Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and steel/concrete design on a range of facilities.
• Create calculations, documents, and specifications; conduct structural analyses including wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization.
• Guide junior engineers and coordinate detailed design phases for structural work.
• Work on challenging assignments to troubleshoot and solve structural issues.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations for planned work.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review others' calculations and drawings for quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design.
• Review existing facilities to propose upgrades and present findings.
