Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior structural analyst to join the New Glenn team in Seattle. You will perform hand calculations and FE analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures, document stress analysis, and support hardware qualification campaigns.

You will mentor junior analysts, develop automation for model generation and reporting, and collaborate across disciplines to advance fluid systems and load paths for launch vehicles.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering with 3+ years in aircraft/spacecraft structures.
• Proficiency with reading/manipulating FEM input files (Nastran/Optistruct/Ansys/Abaqus).
• Experience with development/qualification testing and aerospace sizing methods.
• Knowledge of Bruhn, Niu, Roark methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and FE analysis of aerospace structures.
• Document stress analysis to support release of drawings and docs.
• Plan and execute test campaigns and create qualification reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on configuration development.
• Mentor junior structural analysts and perform design checks.
• Develop automation tools for model creation and analysis reporting.
• Collaborate effectively with team members from diverse fields.
